Phone numbers and SIP

Each agent needs a phone number to make and take real calls: a Twilio number, or a number you already own routed in from your phone system.

A Twilio number

  1. 1
In Twilio, buy an Australian number (mobile numbers can also send texts).
  2. 2
Put it in the agent's Settings › Agent phone number.
  3. 3
In Twilio, open the number and set “A call comes in” to a webhook (HTTP POST) at:
    https://limekiwi-voice-agents.fly.dev/twilio/voice
  4. 4
Ring the number. The agent should answer.

Your own phone system (SIP)

To keep your existing numbers, recording and reporting, route calls from your phone system (Genesys, Amazon Connect, Teams, 3CX, or your carrier) to the agent's SIP address below, and set the agent's phone number to the number callers dial.

  • Calls out: put your phone system's address in Settings › Your phone system (SIP trunk). Outbound calls then leave through your carrier and show your caller ID. Allow Twilio's IP ranges on it.
  • Transfers: “Live transfer to” also takes a sip: address, so hot leads go to a desk or queue in your phone system.
SIP isn't set up on this server yet (TWILIO_SIP_DOMAIN).
