Australian compliance
The app has guardrails for Australian telemarketing and privacy rules built in. They're guardrails, not legal advice: you stay responsible for your own compliance.
Calling hours
Outbound calls only go out on weekdays 9am–8pm and Saturdays 9am–5pm in your company's timezone, never on Sundays or national public holidays (Telecommunications (Telemarketing and Research Calls) Industry Standard 2017). Leads outside these hours wait in the queue.
Do Not Call Register
Cold leads (no consent) can only be called after a Do Not Call Register check in the last 30 days. Wash your list with the Register, then press Mark register-checked on the Leads page. Unchecked cold leads are blocked.
Opting out
Anyone who asks not to be called again goes on your company's do-not-call list straight away, for every agent, and imports skip them. Texts end “Reply STOP to opt out.”, and a STOP reply (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) adds them to the list and stops calls and texts (Spam Act 2003). Other replies are emailed to the agent's summary address.
Where the lead is
Calling hours and public holidays follow each lead's state: from a state, postcode or address column when imported, or their landline's area code. Mobiles don't say where someone is, so by default those leads are only called when it's calling hours everywhere in Australia. Change that in Settings › Calling hours.
Honesty
- Agents introduce themselves by name and say who they're calling for.
- They always say they're an AI when asked, and never claim to be human.
- Answering machines are hung up on and retried later, never pitched.
- Your rules in the playbook can stop an agent promising things it shouldn't.
Sensitive information
Agents don't ask for payment card details or government IDs. Health information is sensitive under the Privacy Act: only agents set up for health insurance ask about it, only after the caller agrees, and only what it needs.
